Curriculum vitae

Zdenek Vintr was born on 16 July 1960 in Boskovice, Czech Republic. In 1981 – 1986 he studied multiple major course at the Antonin Zapotocky Military Academy (VAAZ), majors of “Tanks and Automobiles” and “Armament Mechanical Engineering”.
His appointments started in 1986 till 1989 with platoon leader going on with assistant lecturer for the VAAZ Tank Department since 1989. He has served at the department, later as Department of Combat and Transport Vehicles, in various teaching appointments until today.
In 1993 he managed to defend his dissertation being awarded the Engineering PhD degree in Military Technology major.
In 1999 he was promoted, based on habilitation proceeding, to associated professor for Transport Assets and Means; for the same major the President of the Czech Republic awarded him full Professor degree in 2003.
He was charged vice-dean for research matters of the Military Technology Faculty, University of Defence, from 2003 being appointed Dean of the same faculty as of 1 August 2005 based on regular election.
He concentrates his work as instructor in teaching provisions for military technology reliability and combat tracked vehicles theory and design. His research focuses on the issues related to reliability of complex engineering systems, particularly military assets.
